Privacy

We don't want your data.

The short version: your taste profile belongs in your browser, not in ours.

What stays on your device

Your likes, dislikes, saved discoveries, recent discoveries and weirdness preference are stored locally in your browser. We use that information on your device to make future discoveries more relevant. We do not require an account and we do not send that behavioural profile to our server.

Anonymous site statistics

To keep the catalogue good, we may count how many times a destination has been visited and how many thumbs up or thumbs down it has received in total. These are counters about the destination, not about you: they contain no user identifier, no taste profile and no way to connect a count to a person.

What we do not add

We do not add behavioural analytics, advertising pixels or cross-site tracking cookies. We do not sell personal data and we do not build advertising profiles about visitors.

Hosting and ordinary technical data

The Fun Internet is hosted by Netlify. Like any web hosting and security provider, Netlify may process technical request information such as IP addresses, browser information and request logs in order to deliver and protect the site. My Digital Hero Consulting LTD does not use that information to build a behavioural profile about you.

Submissions and reports

If you submit or report a website, Netlify Forms processes the URL, reason and any note you choose to send. Please do not include personal or sensitive information in a note. We keep submission information only for as long as reasonably needed to review, moderate and administer the catalogue.

External websites

Pressing Surprise Me takes you to an independent third-party website. That website has its own privacy practices, cookies and terms, which we do not control. We deliberately open destinations without attaching your Fun Internet taste profile or a user identifier.

Advertising, if we ever use it

Our intended rule is simple: an advertiser may buy space on The Fun Internet, but not access to an individual visitor or their taste profile. If our approach changes materially, this notice will change before that happens.
